Wedding Photographer Richmond, Surrey - Alex&Alex fairy tale wedding in Chelsea

October 2, 2015

11th April - 2015

Locations: Royal Hospital Chelsea Chapel

                     Chelsea Town Hall

When we first met Alex and Alex it was in occasion of their pre wedding shoot (full album here). While looking for them within the crowd in front of Buckingham Palace, we saw two classy guys all dressed up and wearing color coordinated clothes and we both said to each other, it would be nice it was them, the pictures would come up beautiful.. And guess what? It was them! (to see Alex&Alex's pre wedding shoot just click here).

They both are in the army so they had the privilege to be able to get married in the Royal Hospital Chelsea Chapel, that has not held a wedding for six years before Alex&Alex's one, you can imagine how everyone was very excited about it! If you want to check it out,  have a look at our location report just here!

The morning started with the bridal preparation in a beautiful hotel only ten minutes walking from the chapel. When we arrived we found the girls drinking champagne and having fun while getting ready, and we basically just joined in!

We then split, and Carol went to the chapel to photograph Alex waiting with his family and Benni followed the bride with her father. We were both so thriller about the whole day, we just couldn't wait for it to begin!

The ceremony was very touching and peculiar, as they had to follow the army rules: they are not considered a married couple until they walk through the swords just outside the chapel and kiss right before the last two ones.

The way to the reception venue, Chelsea Town Hall, was also very original as the guests had to follow a bagpiper’s music.

The cake was all covered with macaroons and the whole wedding lunch was accompanied by the music of four talented trumpeters.

It went quiet during the speeches only to turn to music again with a live band for the first dance which was a mixture of fun and emotions.
