When shall I take pictures of my newborn? A few useful tips on newborn photography, timings and bookings.

December 8, 2016

Proud to share some beautiful photos of our latest newborn sessions along with some useful info about newborn photography.

When shall I take pictures of my newborn? When is it the best time to book a newborn photography session?

These are amongst the most frequently asked questions people do when they start thinking about having some pictures of their newborn taken.

We love newborn photography, it is totally different from most kinds of photography, much more thoughtful and caring. Photographing these little cuties to show their best looks even at such young age is within our main aims. Getting the time right is a key element to start with in order to have great pictures, therefore we will be more than happy to share with you some useful info to get the most out your newborn session.

When shall I get in touch?

If you are interested in having your new baby photographed, you really should know that the best period to get it done is when they are between 5 and 14 days old. I know it seems awfully early, I am sure once back from the hospital your very last thought will probably be "alright, I should get in touch with a newborn photographer and get some nice shots of me, my family and my baby done". I feel tired of just writing this, I won't imagine how it feels to actually be in the situation.

Well, let's not panic. First things first: you contact the newborn photographer way before you have given birth.

We normally advise our customers that they should get in touch I would say as early as they find out they are expecting (or almost :). Once we know your due date, we can secure the week in which most likely you will give birth. Since we know how random the timings could be, we are aware that flexibility must be at the top of our skills, so please don't stress about the scheduling, making it work out is part of our job!

The only thing we ask you to do, is to send us an email or a text or a pigeon or some smoking signals (whatever works best for you really) and let us know when you are back from the hospital. We will then proceed from there and find a date that will suit you best.

Would you like to know a little bit more about newborn photography? Are you expecting and you are interested in having a session booked with us? Please let's talk further! Do not hesitate to get in touch, we are here to help!
