How do newborn and baby sessions work? This is the second part of our little journey into newborn photography sessions. On the post of the 6th of January, we gave you a nice insight on our sessions, how they work, what to expect from them and why it could take up to 4 hours to photograph your baby.
In this second chapter, we wanted to spend a few words on our props, the way we treat them, the way we use them, how we choose colours and so on.
As you might have imagined, newborn photography is a huge world that concerns photography of course but also patience, very specific skills and lots of props! When we go to a customer of ours, we will show up with a big selection of different props and we will choose which ones to use with the help of the mum (they might have some favourite ones) or by looking at the skin colour of the baby.
We take pictures of the newborn without any nappy on and every now and then (let's say most of the times!!) they might leave a little gift in our cloths. It comes without saying that every time we wash carefully every single piece of fabric that we use. With little baby girls we might also use some nice headbands (if mum likes it) to pop a little bit of extra colour in the picture. This is the case of baby Siena, a lovely 14 day old baby girl that looked just gorgeous with that little extra purple in her hair.
Here below the full album from this family. For more info about our session, feel free to drop us a line at info@bennicarolphotography or give us a call at 07454022243, we will be more than happy to help!
