Benni&Carol's venue recommendation | Gatton Hall, gorgeous wedding venue in Reigate

April 27, 2017

Gatton Hall, Gatton Park wedding photography - For this week we thought to share one extra blog post about our amazing experience at the beautiful venue Gatton Hall in Reigate, Surrey. We just prepared a special section on our website (HERE) all dedicated to this stunning place that just stole our hearts, so here we are sharing with you our humble review about the venue. There would be so much to tell, hopefully we'll have some time to add some more info in the next few weeks!

When we first saw Gatton Hall we could not believe we were being that lucky to be photographing a wedding there. We knew it was going to be a beautiful wedding venue, but quite frankly, we were not expecting it to be so gorgeous!

St Andrew Church situated just behind the mansion, is an intimate perfect place to get married and it definitely was the perfect setting for our natural and fine art wedding photography. Not only the inner space is fabulous, but the outdoor ground is one beautiful backdrop for a first set of couple pictures!

The first set of couple pictures can be taken just outside the beautiful St Andrew Church. With the light going through the building, you can create lovely frames, playing around the different angles. Ella and Alex's wedding was blessed with a stunning sunshine that made our job so easy! And honestly, they themselves could not have been easier to photograph!

As we mentioned before, the venue is breathtaking, a little treasure hidden between the green land of Gatton Hall Park. The building itself is so monumental and being on top of a hill, it overlooks the beautiful land in front of it. The little pond at the bottom of the slope makes everything even more stunning.

The inner space is extremely bright, with a set of big windows brightening up the reception room. Having such a bright and light space surely helps when it come to photographing the speeches and the guests enjoying the wedding breakfast. The building offers also fantastic options for group photos, at any time of the day, no matter how harsh is the light outdoor, you can always find the right spot for the group images.

After the ceremony and right before the wedding breakfast begins, we spend roughly 20 minutes with our couple to take their wedding photos. In these 20 minutes we fully express our alternative and creative approach to wedding photography. We pride ourselves to be able to make our clients feel at ease, no matter how intimidated they could be by the camera. Also, being two wedding photographers in location,  we are able to keep the time spent away from your guests very short, as we use two different sets of lenses that give two different angles. Time and experience have taught us to fully complement each others' images.

At Gatton Hall, wedding photography could not be simpler. As we were mentioning earlier, there is a huge pool of possibilities, it's almost hard to find which ones to go for as they are all so beautiful! With Ella and Alex we started the photo shoot on the Parterre, just in front of Gatton Hall main entrance, on the south side of the venue. You can take pictures from the two different perspectives, one on the Parterre with the venue in the background and then simply turning the whole angle and having the Gatton Hall pond just behind the couple. When the sunset light hits the venue, the wedding images you can get are just breathtaking.

To finish off our review on Gatton Hall, we can only say, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The staff is amazing and the all environment for the whole day feels just perfect. We will be so lucky to be photographing another wedding there in July, honestly, we cannot wait! If you are considering to getting married at Gatton Hall, why not drop us a line at We would love to hear everything about your wedding plans and to share with you our experience in one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Surrey!
