Outdoor and Tipi weddings, inspirations and ideas from Benni & Carol, two wedding photographers based in Surrey and Bristol.
If we were to choose our favourite kind of wedding, we would most probably choose outdoor and tipi weddings. Being in love with nature it's no surprise that outdoor weddings fall perfectly within our preferred category! As artistic wedding photographers, we try to convey our personalties through our pictures and it's always a big satisfaction to speak with our couples and actually hear from them our same idea of wedding photography, relaxed and natural, with no constrictions, a photography that follows what naturally unfolds during the day capturing the most beautiful and authentic moments. Over the last year we have been lucky enough to photograph many outdoor and tipi weddings in Surrey, in Bristol, in Brighton and in different national parks around the UK. Although they all follow general rules like being set up in wide open fields in the countryside, being beautifully rustic and boho themed with a lovely mix of adventure and artistic flair, they are alway so unique and different from each other. And it couldn't be otherwise, what more than a wedding reflects the unique and different couple personalities?
Here are three examples of outdoor/tipi weddings that we have recently photographed, hopefully they will be the perfect inspiration for your own rustic wedding!
Evie&Jen - Outdoor wedding in Peak District national park at Masson Farm, Matlock - www.massonfarm.com
Evie and Jen went fully outdoor! Their beautiful day was celebrated at Masson Farm in Matlock, a fantastic place in the middle of the beautiful Peak District, surrounded by rock climbing cliffs, endless greeny fields and cows! These two beautiful guys decided to have their ceremony also celebrated outdoor, an amazing way to be in total touch with nature.

The setting for the couple pictures was just perfect, we could not have asked for more!
The reception was hosted in a tipi. They chose very simple and rustic decorations focusing mainly on their story and on the meaning of their marriage.
The next wedding we wanted to show you is the beautiful day of Eimear&Steve. These two incredible guys chose a festival, outdoor themed wedding. The location they picked to celebrate their day is the beautiful Wootton Farm in Lewes, Brighton. Weddings there are just so incredible! you can check their website out just here - www.woottonfarmestate.com
Eimear and Stevie wanted to go full on for their day. All their guests slept at the farm the night before the wedding, in the campsite the couple set up for them. When we arrived in the morning, we could see everyone getting ready in the fields, by their tents, boys shaving and dressing up, girls doing their make up and hair, can't wait to share those photos with you when the full post gets published!
Being a festival themed wedding, the classic amazing vintage WV van couldn't be missed and we of course just loved it, it's been also the perfect prop for the couple pictures. And surely icing on the cake, the pure festival party they had at night, it was hard for us not to join in!!

And last but not least of our three top picks of outdoor/tipi wedding inspirations is the lovely day of Kate&Christian in Bristol.
They were so lucky that they could celebrate their day in their own backyard, where they had a beautiful tipi, along with horses, endless fields, bouncy castles, 6 great singers coming straight from 1940 and so on.. Their tipi was really quite something, when they set it up they decided to include a tree that was already in the garden, and what a stunning idea! Decorated with light bulbs, it was the perfect atmosphere light for the evening reception! Well, and of course we HAVE to mention the candelabras, woooow, just amazing! The table board was installed on a wooden rustic ladder, decorated with wild flowers, extremely elegant and pretty.
The couple pictures took place in a very unique location, an ancient pool that was in the backyard of Kate&Christian's neighbours, never seen anything quite like that!
