by elopement photographer planning and documenting elopements all over Italy
There is no doubt that Sicily is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. It really has it all. Whether you’re a nature lover, or you love history, whether you want to try exotic tastes perfectly balanced with the Italian cuisine, whether you just want to relax on a beach or you want to hike on an active volcano, Sicily has it all.
Last June we were lucky enough to photograph there two incredible elopements, one elopement in Taormina, and this gorgeous elopement in Cefalù.
Compared to Taormina, Cefalù has a completely different feel. It’s a former fishermen village and in most of its corners, you can still feel all the history and authenticity of the place.
Leah and Ed’s day started in the countryside of Cefalù, where they stayed at Susafa, a luxury boutique hotel, an eco retreat where sustainability and community feel are the main focus.
On the grounds of this absolutely unique jem, Leah and Ed had their symbolic ceremony, an exchange of vows that literally moved us to tears.
After an intimate aperitivo with an Aperol Spritz on the hotel terrace overlooking the countryside, we headed off to the fields first, and to Cefalù later for a nice stroll through its picturesque streets.
Leah and Ed made our job so easy, they were enthusiastic, happy, so natural, all they wanted was to spend an incredible day together surrounded by the beauty of this stunning region.
To easily walk around, Leah changed her Loeffler Randall gold Camelia in her gold Birkenstock, which we absolutely LOVED!
So here’s a tip and nice inspiration for everyone who wants to elope in Italy: get a change of shoes for strolling around cities and villages, it will be the best choice you’ll ever make. Remember that in Italian city centres, cobblestone is what you will mostly find!
